Gaza – Saba:
The Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor considered on Wednesday that the Israeli entity's plan to isolate areas east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, is a "colonial means to fragment Gaza and re-engineer it geographically and demographically."
The human rights monitor said in a press release on its website that the new military axis is a dangerous escalation within the framework of a comprehensive colonial settlement project aimed at fragmenting the land and reshaping it geographically and demographically to serve the long-term goals of the Israeli entity.
It explained that the establishment of the new axis confirms Israel's disregard for any de-escalation efforts that might lead to a halt to its military operations or an end to its illegal occupation of the Gaza Strip.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor's statement explained that the areas isolated by the new Israeli axis extend over an area estimated at 45% of the Khan Yunis Governorate, equivalent to approximately 12% of the total area of the Gaza Strip.
It emphasized that: "Israel views the Palestinian civilian presence as a threat that must be eliminated, and classifies civilian facilities and civilians as "terrorist" structures simply because they remain in targeted areas, because its war is primarily directed against the Palestinian people."
The Monitor pointed out that the comprehensive destruction was not military necessary, but rather aimed to completely destroy and erase the Palestinian material and cultural legacy, in a grave violation of international law.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court, announced that his army had taken control of the Morag axis (the Tel Sultan area), emphasizing that this would serve as the second axis in the Philadelphi Strategy, which aims to divide and further pressure the Gaza Strip.
This announcement comes within the context of the Israeli aggression aimed at dismembering Gaza and intensifying pressure on the population to force them to make concessions, including the handover of "Israeli" prisoners.
Through these operations, the Israeli enemy seeks to impose new facts on the ground, aimed at weakening the steadfastness of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the achievement of Israel's military and political objectives in the ongoing war.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 58,573 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 139,607 others. To date, this is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue crews.
