The Hebrew newspaper Maariv revealed that the three Israeli enemy soldiers declared killed on Tuesday in northern Gaza died while inside a Merkava Mark 4 tank-considered the most advanced and heavily armored tank in the enemy’s military arsenal.
The newspaper pointed out that the incident raises serious questions about the Palestinian resistance’s ability to penetrate this type of advanced tank.
According to Maariv, the Israeli army does not know what kind of weapon struck the Merkava tank-whether it was hit by a missile or a grenade.
Despite claims by the Israeli army that the Merkava Mark 4 is equipped with advanced defensive systems designed to protect it from guided missiles and projectiles, resistance factions in Gaza have successfully damaged or disabled hundreds of these tanks.
Intelligence reports and field sources indicate that Palestinian resistance movements have managed to strike or destroy more than 700 military vehicles of various types in Gaza.
