Beijing - Saba:
Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, who also serves as his country’s chief negotiator with the United States, warned of the consequences of the “disruptions and transformations” currently unfolding in global trade.
In a speech delivered Wednesday at the opening of the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing, He stated: “Some countries are interfering in the market under the pretext of risk reduction, using measures such as imposing tariffs,” in a clear reference to the United States.
He went on to say, “Global changes unseen in a century are accelerating, with multiple intertwined and accumulating risks.”
He added, “We must strengthen consensus on development, firmly resist the politicization, ideological framing, and excessive securitization of economic and trade issues, and work together to maintain an open and cooperative international environment.”
