Cairo – Saba:
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) announced on Saturday its welcome of Hamas’ response agreeing to the mediators’ proposal for a 60-day cessation of aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the DFLP stated: "Our position stems from a deep understanding of our people’s right to stop the machinery of killing, starvation, dehydration, and death in hospitals due to the lack of medicine."
The Front added: "We held several consultations with Hamas and Islamic Jihad during the recent visit of our leadership delegation to the Egyptian capital, headed by Secretary-General Fahd Suleiman. We also continued our discussions from a position of shared responsibility to safeguard our people’s interests and their right to a dignified life."
The DFLP emphasized that "any agreement with the Israeli enemy must—in line with our consultations with Hamas—ensure the opening of crossings, the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, the enemy’s withdrawal to the lines agreed upon in the January 19 agreement, and the provision of dignified shelter for displaced Palestinians amid the ruins of their houses destroyed by the enemy. It must also guarantee the transfer of the wounded, injured, and sick abroad for treatment."
The Front warned against attempts by "war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu—wanted by the International Criminal Court—and his government to circumvent any potential agreement."
It further stressed "the necessity of obtaining guarantees from mediators to oversee indirect negotiations, leading to a complete halt to the genocide, the full withdrawal of Zionist forces from Gaza, and a transition to the 'day after' in accordance with the Palestinian national vision. This vision must ensure Palestinian unity, thwart the enemy’s attempts to incite strife, preserve the territorial integrity of the State of Palestine, and block any bloody schemes aimed at fragmenting Palestinian land or dismantling our people’s national unity in the occupied territories."
The DFLP affirmed that "Palestinian unity behind our people in Gaza is an essential condition for achieving the outlined goals for the Strip’s present and future."
