Gaza Civil Defense Spokesman Mahmoud Basal called on all international and regional mediators on Friday to work toward declaring an immediate and comprehensive humanitarian truce until an agreement is reached.
Basal said in a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): "From the heart of the Gaza Strip, which is facing death at every moment, I appeal to all international and regional mediators and the international community to work toward declaring an immediate and comprehensive humanitarian truce until an agreement is reached."
He added: "Civilians are not a party to this war, and they should not pay the price for the delay in political understandings."
He appealed for immediate action, saying: "There are lives under the rubble, wounded people without medicine, and displaced people without shelter."
