The Education Sector in Sana'a governorate held an event on Wednesday to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), under the slogan "Far be it from us to accept humiliation."
Deputy Governor Yahya Juma'an stated that observing the anniversary of Imam Hussein's martyrdom is a significant occasion for faith, awareness, and mobilization, offering insights into his character and his stand against the tyrants of his era.
He drew parallels between the injustices faced by Imam Hussein and those currently experienced by the Palestinian and Yemeni people.
Juma'an emphasized the importance of following Imam Hussein's path, adhering to his principles, and continuing to support the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza. He also stressed sincere allegiance to the revolutionary leadership, represented by Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, who he credited with guiding the nation back to the right path during a time of submission.
During the event, head of the educational sector Talib Dahhan discussed the educational implications of commemorating Ashura.
He described the tragedy of Karbala as a painful event that demands reflection on Imam Hussein's stand against falsehood and deviant forces.
Dahhan urged that this commemoration serve as a lesson to strengthen resilience in confronting the nation's enemies and upholding the noble values brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Cultural activists Dr. Yousef al-Hadhari and Dr. Adel al-Qarmani spoke about the faith-based and humanitarian aspects of Ashura and the tragedy of Karbala.
They highlighted the profound lessons drawn from Imam Hussein's revolution in confronting contemporary oppressors, namely America and Israel.
They also underscored the responsibility of Islamic and Arab regimes to promote jihad and confront Zionists for the liberation and support of Palestine.
