Iranian Judiciary Spokesman Asghar Jahangir announced that the number of martyrs in the Zionist terrorist attack on Evin Prison has reached 71 so far, including prison staff, guards, prisoners, families of prisoners, and neighbors of the prison, according to official statistics.
Asghar Jahangir said, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), that the damage to the neighbors of Evin Prison is extensive, adding that the Zionist attack on the prison caused extensive material and physical damage to neighbors near the meeting hall and the Public Prosecution building.
He continued, saying that on the day of the attack, a number of families had come to Evin Prison to visit or check on the affairs of their prisoners, but unfortunately, the hall was hit by a shell, and a number of citizens present were killed and injured.
Jahangir added: Unfortunately, some people were injured in this incident. Some received treatment at the scene, and some were taken to the hospital for further treatment.
It is worth noting that the Zionist entity targeted some buildings in Evin Prison in its recent aggression, once again demonstrating its failure to abide by international laws.
