Gaza - Saba:
Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director-General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, stated that the Zionist enemy is intensifying its attacks against Palestinian civilians, deliberately targeting shelters in what he described as a genocide and daily massacres.
He characterized the health situation as dire and deeply painful.
In press statements on Sunday, Al-Bursh confirmed that nearly 500 martyrs have fallen in "death traps," noting that the enemy disperses crowds waiting for aid with artillery fire, and those who survive are then targeted by snipers. Many of the injuries were to the head and chest.
He cited harrowing testimonies and footage showing that children were directly targeted for killing, not just intimidation.
Regarding the infant Jouri Al-Masri, Dr. Al-Bursh said she was martyred after the enemy besieged her with hunger, depriving her of basic nourishment.
Jouri was the 66th child on the list of those who died from malnutrition and starvation. He warned that 59,000 children under the age of five face the same fate as Jouri amid the spread of infectious diseases, including respiratory illnesses. Since the beginning of the year, around 254,000 respiratory infections have been recorded, including 337 cases of meningitis and 259 viral cases.
Al-Bursh emphasized that Gaza's children are not growing normally—their bodies are emaciated, their faces pale, and their tears dried.
So far, 17,000 children and nearly 9,000 women have been killed, while approximately 55,000 pregnant women suffer from malnutrition, leading to birth defects and premature deliveries.
Al-Bursh also criticized the silence of the world and the Muslim community, stating that they have failed to save Gaza's children. He described the image of baby Jouri as a symbol of betrayal and crime, encapsulating the world's failure. He deemed the deaths of Jouri and other children due to the lack of milk a "moral and humanitarian scandal."
