Chelsea vs. Benfica match suspended due to bad weather
[Sun, 29 Jun 2025 13:43:26 +0300]

Washington - Saba:

Bad weather conditions caused the Benfica vs. Chelsea match to be suspended on Saturday evening, three minutes before the end of the round of 16 of the Club World Cup.

As the match was nearing its end, the referee blew his whistle, announcing the suspension due to bad weather.

The referee ordered players from both teams to the locker rooms, in accordance with protocol since the beginning of the Club World Cup.

The match was suspended while Chelsea was leading 1-0. If that result were to be achieved, they would advance to face Palmeiras in the quarterfinals.
