Dhamar - Saba:
On Tuesday, June 25, 2025, Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti inspected the progress of work on the rainwater harvesting tank project in the Tafdal area of Jahran District.
The governor urged the project's rapid completion before the rainy season, commending the efforts made and emphasizing the importance of implementing similar groundwater recharge projects and rationalizing their use to ensure water security for future generations.
He also pointed to local decisions linking the issuance of well-drilling licenses to the implementation of groundwater recharge projects, restricting licenses to agricultural projects linked to food production.
For his part, Engineer Haitham Al-Ashram, Director of the Water Resources Authority branch, and Dr. Nabil Al-Areeq, Project Consultant, explained that the project is 70% complete. The project is being implemented as part of four projects in different governorates, with a total capacity of 185,000 cubic meters and a cost of 165 million riyals, with joint funding from the Authority and the community.
The governor was accompanied by a number of officials and engineers as part of the follow-up on the implementation of development projects in the governorate.
