The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), revealed details on Wednesday of a heroic operation that resulted in the deaths of several Israeli soldiers south of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Al-Qassam Brigades said: "During a complex ambush, Al-Qassam fighters destroyed a Zionist personnel carrier yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, with a "Shawaz" explosive device placed inside the cockpit, completely burning the vehicle and its crew."
It added: "Our fighters then targeted another Zionist personnel carrier with a "fedayeen" explosive device near the Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Ma'an area, south of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Our fighters monitored the landing of a helicopter for evacuation, which continued for several hours."
Earlier Wednesday morning, the Israeli army acknowledged the deaths of an officer and six soldiers in a Palestinian resistance ambush targeting an engineering armored personnel carrier in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said in a statement that the serious incident occurred yesterday, Tuesday, at approximately 5:20 p.m.
Since October 7, 2023, Palestinian resistance factions have continued their heroic operations against the Zionist enemy as part of the ongoing "Al-Aqsa Flood" campaign.
