The Al-Wahda Multipurpose Cooperative Association was officially launched today in the Capital Secretariat, in a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local and Rural Administration, Mohammed Al-Madani, and the Capital Mayor, Dr. Hamoud Obad.
During the founding meeting—organized by the preparatory committee with support from the Capital’s local authority, represented by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, and in coordination with Bonyan Development Foundation and the Secretariat’s Office of Social Affairs and Labor—the draft bylaws of the association were discussed and approved. In addition, the administrative and oversight committees were elected.
Speaking at the launch, attended by Deputy Minister of Local and Rural Administration Khalil Al-Quraishi and the Director of Social Affairs and Labor Nasser Al-Kahli, the Director of Al-Wahda District, Sami Humaid, highlighted the importance of establishing the association to activate cooperative work and promote development that positively impacts the community and meets public aspirations.
The association’s newly elected leadership expressed their commitment to fulfilling the association’s role in supporting development and achieving the intended goals across Al-Wahda District.
They also expressed gratitude for the support from the local authority, the Agricultural Projects Financing Unit, and Bonyan Foundation, emphasizing the association’s anticipated role in advancing social, service, and developmental efforts.
