Sana'a - (Saba):
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast thunderstorms in several governorates, hot to extremely hot weather in the deserts, plains, and coastal areas, and strong winds in the Socotra Archipelago and the Gulf of Aden.
According to the center's weather bulletin, thunderstorms are expected in parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Amran, Dhamar, Dhale'a, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, Raymah, and west of Sana'a and Saada.
It also indicated strong to very high winds in the Socotra Archipelago and the Gulf of Aden.
The weather is likely to be hot to extremely hot in the deserts and coastal plains, and humid and hot in coastal areas.
The center reported that rainfall over the past 24 hours, measured at some meteorological stations, reached 17.2 mm in Al Mahwit, 16.8 mm in Hajjah, 3.7 mm in Sana'a-Juhanah, 3.4 mm in Ibb-As-Saddah, and 1.9 mm in Lahj.
Scattered rains accompanied by thunderstorms fell on parts of the governorates of Taiz, Dhalea, Raymah, and Saada, but were outside the stations' range.
The center warned citizens against staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after the rainfall, and against the hot and extremely hot weather. It advised against direct exposure to the sun during the afternoon.
It also warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the eastern coasts.
