Buenos Aires - Saba:
The Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, witnessed a massive public march yesterday evening, Saturday, attended by thousands of demonstrators, in the largest protest movement in years.
The demonstration came in rejection of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and all occupied Palestinian territories, including occupied Quds, and the accompanying international silence.
The march, which began at the intersection of Callao and Corrientes Streets and proceeded to Plaza de Mayo, was called for by the "Independent Coordination for Palestine" and the "Argentine Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People."
It was also supported by dozens of political and social groups and organizations, such as the "Expel the Israeli Company Mekorot from Argentina" campaign, the Workers' Party, the Socialist Left, the Socialist Workers' Movement, the Socialist Workers' Party, the National Encounter, the Socialist Convergence, the Labor Policy, and the PSTU party, along with several parliamentary figures known for their support of the Palestinian cause.
During the march, slogans were raised condemning the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza, which have led to the deaths of tens of thousands, widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure, the prevention of humanitarian aid, and the crimes committed by the occupation army and settlers in the West Bank and Quds.
The demonstrators expressed their strong condemnation of Argentine President Javier Milei's visit to Israel and his support for Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right government, as well as the announcement of the relocation of the Argentine embassy to Quds in 2026.
The participants in the demonstration expressed their rejection of the Argentine government's use of the name of the Argentine people to justify its support for the occupation policy, affirming the popular slogan: "Not in our name".
A unified statement was read calling for the severing of diplomatic relations with Israel.
The event concluded with a concert by artist Malena D'Alessio, during which she called on artists in Argentina to take a public stand against the aggression on Gaza.
She emphasized that the Argentine people have experienced genocide and cannot remain silent in the face of similar tragedies being experienced by another people.
