The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the brutal U.S. aggression launched at dawn today against the Islamic Republic of Iran, targeting peaceful nuclear facilities.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the US aggression constitutes a blatant violation of Iran's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
It contradicts the purposes of the United Nations, which affirm refraining from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. It also contravenes international law, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
The statement indicated that this aggression exposes the falsity of the current US administration's claims of its commitment to achieving peace in the world and reaffirms that it is a docile tool in the hands of global Zionism.
It warned that the US aggression against Iran could drag the region and the world into a war whose repercussions would be felt by all.
The statement noted that America has been a partner in the Zionist aggression against Iran since day one, but intervened directly after the Zionist entity failed to achieve its goals. It recalled that America is a protégé of Israel and contributed to implanting this entity within the Arab nation.
He reiterated Iran's right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy in accordance with international law, praising Iran's constructive approach to this issue despite all the pressures it has been subjected to.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and fulfill its role in maintaining international peace and security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Republic of Yemen's support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its right to self-defense and to respond to the barbaric Zionist-American aggression.
