Sana'a – Saba:
A meeting took place in the capital Sana'a on Sunday between Minister of Electricity, Water, and Energy Dr. Ali Saif and Governor of Bayda Abdullah Idris to discuss the status of water and sanitation projects within Bayda governorate.
The discussion, attended by several ministry and authority officials, focused on strategies for expanding water services, specifically through supporting the drilling of new wells in Rada'a district.
This support is expected to come from emergency central interventions and various donor agencies. The meeting also reviewed existing rural water projects, the feasibility of new water pipelines to feed Rada'a's water basin, and the progress of sanitation projects in both Bayda city and Rada'a, including the wastewater treatment plant in Bayda.
Minister Saif reiterated his commitment to completing water and sanitation projects in Bayda, in cooperation with local authorities, aligning with directives from the Revolutionary Leadership and the Government of Change and Construction. He affirmed the Ministry's readiness to support the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in overseeing these projects and meeting citizen needs.
Deputy Minister Adel Bader underscored the Ministry's support for these projects, emphasizing the dedication to developing Bayda's overall water system, including sustainable solar-powered initiatives.
Governor Idris, in turn, outlined the governorate's urgent needs for water and sanitation support to complete stalled projects and establish services in underserved areas, commending the Ministry's attention to these vital requirements.
Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation Engineer Abdulghani al-Mukhtar provided an overview of implemented, ongoing, and stalled projects.
