The Board of Directors of the Egyptian club Zamalek announced the appointment of John Edward as Sporting Director of the club's football sector, in a move aimed at comprehensively restructuring the sector.
Zamalek Club said in a statement published on its official platforms that the Board of Directors, headed by Hussein Labib, discussed the final recommendations submitted by the Planning and Development Committee regarding the restructuring of the football sector yesterday evening.
The Board expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the committee, which will continue to serve as advisors to the Board of Directors.
The decisions of the Zamalek Board of Directors were as follows:
First: Appointing John Edward as Sporting Director of the club's football sector, to manage the first football team.
Second: Granting the Sporting Director full authority to handle various football matters within the club, while emphasizing the desire to leverage his expertise to achieve the desired goals and meet the aspirations of Zamalek fans.
Third: Emphasizing that any sabotage of the club's football sector, including the first team, will be the sole responsibility of Zamalek's sporting director or the club's official spokesperson. The board will not stand silent in the face of any attempts to implicate Zamalek as a party to fabricating lies aimed at sowing discord and division among the fans.
The Zamalek board of directors affirmed that it is aware of and listens to the voices of its loyal fans, who have set a wonderful example of love and true belonging to their club, as always. The board will spare no effort to ensure Zamalek's continued success on the podium, having recently been crowned Egypt Cup champions for the 29th time in its history.
