Sana'a - (Saba):

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast varying intensity rainfall across several governorates, along with hot to extremely hot weather in the deserts, plains, and coastal areas over the next 24 hours.

The center stated in its weather bulletin that varying intensity rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected in the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Dhale'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, and west of Sana'a, Amran, and Saada, extending to parts of the highlands of Lahj, Bayda, Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut.

Active to strong winds are likely to blow over the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts, with speeds ranging between 30-40 knots.

According to the center, the weather is likely to be hot to extremely hot in the deserts and coastal plains, with maximum temperatures ranging between 40-44 degrees Celsius.

While the weather may be humid and hot in coastal areas, the highest humidity ranges between 80-90% and temperatures between 35-39°C.

The center reported that the amount of rainfall over the past 24 hours, measured at meteorological stations in Ibb, was 14.6 mm, Al-Ma'afer, Taiz: 4.4 mm, and Raymah: 0.4 mm.

Scattered thunderstorms also fell in the governorates of Dhamar, Hadramaut, Lahj, and Dhale'a, outside the monitoring stations.

The center warned citizens in mountainous areas where rainfall is expected to be severe, of thunderstorms and of staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall.

Seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains were also warned of high seas and rough waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the eastern coasts.

It also warned citizens in deserts and coastal plains of the hot and extremely hot weather and advised against direct exposure to the sun during the afternoon.
