Gaza – Saba:
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) warned on Monday that approximately 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza are at risk of famine due to Israel's continued genocide in the Strip.
According to Safa News Agency, a warning report issued by the FAO and the WFP confirmed that the level of famine in Gaza has reached a critical level due to the difficulty of humanitarian access to the Strip.
The report, which monitors hunger hotspots around the world, stressed that approximately 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza are at severe risk of famine due to the ongoing Israeli war of extermination, mass displacement, and severe restrictions on humanitarian aid.
It explained that the acute food shortage in Gaza could reach its highest levels next September.
FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu, whose views were included in the report, indicated that hunger represents an emergency for millions of people around the world.
He called for immediate and collective action to save lives and protect livelihoods.
The Gaza Strip is suffering from a catastrophic humanitarian and relief crisis due to the closure of the crossings by the Zionist enemy authorities since March 2, preventing the entry of food, medicine, aid, and fuel, while its army escalates its genocide against Palestinians in the besieged Strip.
With full American support, the Zionist enemy forces have been committing genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 184,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, in addition to destroying the Strip's infrastructure.
