The Al-Zeitoun Neighborhood Families Gathering in Gaza City announced the complete lifting of family cover from anyone proven to be involved in acts of thuggery, assaulting Palestinian citizens, or blocking roads.
The gathering affirmed its absolute rejection of any practices that threaten civil peace and offend the morals of the neighborhood and its residents.
In a press statement issued Sunday evening, the gathering said, "We will not stand idly by in the face of anyone who distorts the image of our honorable neighborhood, terrorizes the peaceful, or attacks dignity and property." It emphasized that security is a collective right that no one has the right to tamper with or confiscate.
The gathering called on the relevant security and legal authorities to pursue and hold accountable anyone proven to be involved in destabilizing the situation, rejecting any attempts at tribal or societal interference that obstruct justice or seek to protect aggressors.
