Paris – Saba:
Amnesty International condemned on Monday the "presence of companies selling weapons used in the Gaza war" at the Le Bourget Air Show, as well as "France's supply of military equipment to Israel."
According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), the non-governmental organization stated in a press release that "despite its claims, the French government continues to send components for military equipment to manufacture weapons in Israel, paving the way for potential complicity in international crimes."
The organization added, "States that continue to transfer weapons to Israel must recognize that they are violating their obligation to prevent genocide and risk becoming complicit in this crime."
Amnesty, which launched a satirical website titled "The Genocide Fair" coinciding with the Le Bourget exhibition, pointed out that "arms companies are not immune from this risk of complicity."
The French government has repeatedly denied accusations from NGOs regarding the transfer of weapons to Israel for non-defensive purposes or re-export.
