Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the Ukrainian crisis by phone on Sunday with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to the Russian news agency Novosti, a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry said: "Fidan and Rutte discussed efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and preparations for the NATO summit scheduled for June 24-25 in The Hague."
The second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine was held on June 2 in Turkey.
The meeting lasted for more than an hour, during which the two sides exchanged memoranda of understanding on the settlement of the conflict.
Head of the Russian negotiating delegation Vladimir Medinsky reported that the two sides reached an agreement on a broad prisoner exchange that includes sick and wounded prisoners according to the "all for all" principle, in addition to prisoners under the age of 25. The total number of prisoners to be exchanged is expected to be at least 1,000.
