New York – Saba:
UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf stated today, Saturday, that the recent killings of Gazans at aid distribution centers are not isolated or accidental, but rather "systematic, recurring incidents" that have resulted in dozens of deaths.
Abu Khalaf asserted that this is evidence that the "opaque US-Israeli aid distribution mechanism does not respect the basic and simple rules of humanitarian response operations," according to Sanad News Agency. He warned that the new US-Israeli aid system in Gaza is "doomed to fail" and carries "the seeds of abject failure," with signs already evident.
He explained that even if the new mechanism were to succeed, which he deemed highly unlikely, it would take too long to stabilize, a luxury Gazans do not have as they face a dangerous race against time, risking death from bombing, hunger, or malnutrition.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli enemy army, with American and European support, has been committing crimes of genocide in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 54,772 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 125,834 others.
This remains a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue teams.
