London - Saba:
Tottenham Hotspur sacked Australian manager Ange Postecoglou today, two weeks after he led the club to victory in the Europa League, ending a 17-year trophyless run since winning the League Cup in 2008.
The North London club announced in a statement that he was "relieved of his duties" following a performance review following a poor Premier League season in which they finished 17th.
Tottenham had signed Postecoglou, 59, two years ago from Scottish side Celtic, and led them to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final, winning their first European title in 41 years. He also secured a place in next season's Champions League.
