The funeral of the late Sheikh Naji Shaif Al-Awaj was held today in Sana’a, following his passing after a long illness and a life dedicated to serving the nation.
The funeral procession was led by Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, along with members of the Parliament and Shura Council, governors of Marib (Ali Tuaiman), Al-Mahwit (Hanin Qatina), and Raymah (Fares Al-Habbari), as well as the First Deputy Governor of Sana’a Province, Hamid Asim.
Mourners praised the late Sheikh’s noble qualities, integrity, and moral character. They recalled his national stances, especially in confronting the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression, and his unwavering dedication to prioritizing the country’s interests.
They emphasized that with his passing, Sana’a Governorate has lost one of its loyal figures who served with dedication in various government institutions and played a key role in public service and community leadership.
Participants extended their heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased and the Al-Awaj tribe in Nihm District.
The funeral prayer was held at Al-Shaab Mosque, after which Sheikh Naji Al-Awaj was laid to rest in Al-Daf’i Cemetery.
