Researcher Majid Ahmed Yahiya Al-Washali obtained a PhD in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Islamic University of Lebanon for his thesis entitled "Yemen in its Regional Environment: Between Integration and Dependency, 1970-2020."
The thesis discussed the foundations, concepts, and theories of the study, historically, geographically, legally, and politically, and addressed the issue of Yemen's borders with neighboring countries, particularly the Gulf states and the Horn of Africa, between recognition and denial.
It also addressed the developments and tensions in relations politically, diplomatically, security-wise, and militarily, highlighting the most prominent stages of integration and dependency, as well as the stages of conflict and disagreement from 1970 to 2020.
The thesis's academic discussion committee consisted of Dr. Ahmed Meli as supervisor and chairman, Dr. Muhammad Issa Abdullah as first reader, Dr. Hassan Al-Ashmar as second reader, Dr. Laure Abi Khalil as member, and Dr. Adel Khalifa. Member.
