Warsaw - Saba:

Polish state media on Monday said opposition candidate Karol Nawrozki led the second round of the presidential election with 51 percent, with 99.5 percent of the votes counted.

Polish state television quoted the State Election Commission as saying, "Karol Nawrozki, candidate of the opposition Law and Justice party, led the runoff in the Polish presidential election with 51 percent of the votes, with 99.55 percent of the votes counted."

The commission indicated that the candidate of the ruling Civic Coalition, Rafal Trzaskowski, received 49 percent of the votes.

Voting in the second round of the presidential election ended Sunday evening, with preliminary polls showing Trzaskowski winning with 50.3 percent.

However, two hours later, late polls showed Nawrozki ahead with 50.7 percent.

The full official results of the second round are scheduled to be announced after 100 percent of the votes are counted, either Monday evening or Tuesday.
