Gaza – SABA
The Gaza Municipality has issued an urgent appeal for heavy machinery and fuel supplies as it faces a near-total operational collapse that could paralyze all basic city services.
Municipal authorities report catastrophic shortages with 134 municipal vehicles (80% of fleet) destroyed by Israeli forces leaving critical services like water distribution and waste management on the verge of complete shutdown due to lack of fuel and spare parts.
The water crisis has reached disastrous levels with only 35000 cubic meters currently available daily compared to 120000 cubic meters before the war after 75% of water wells were destroyed while the remaining wells operate minimally due to fuel shortages.
A mounting waste catastrophe sees 250000 tons of garbage accumulating in residential areas as sanitation crews lack both equipment and access to official landfills creating severe public health risks.
The municipality urgently calls on international organizations to intervene immediately by providing fuel restoring water infrastructure and addressing the waste disaster before total systems failure occurs.
