Beijing - Saba:
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko stressed that cooperation between Moscow and China plays a pivotal role in achieving stability amid global geopolitical turmoil.
In his speech at the 10th Russia-China Cooperation in a New Era conference currently being held in Beijing, as reported by the TASS news agency, Rudenko said, "Currently, the focus of global activity is shifting towards Eurasia, particularly the Asia-Pacific region. The Euro-Atlantic region has lost its position as the main driver of global development, with the diminishing ability of Western countries to impose their will on others and the growing power of the global majority in politics, economics, and security matters."
The Russian diplomat pointed out that the global minority seeks to inflame global political tensions by igniting crises and conflicts in the Eurasian space, in an attempt to cling to the old world order.
"Amid these growing geopolitical turmoil, strategic cooperation between Russia and China plays a pivotal role in achieving global stability, and mutual support between Moscow and Beijing in confronting attempts to reshape the global order is of particular importance," Rudenko added, noting that Russia and China share a common vision that there is no alternative to establishing a more just and sustainable multipolar world order.
The Russian diplomat praised Beijing's constructive role in the Ukraine crisis, saying, "Moscow highly appreciates China's constructive and balanced position on Ukraine, which is based on a deep understanding of the root causes of the crisis and takes into account the principles enshrined in the UN Charter." He explained that the West bears full responsibility for fueling the conflict, having ignored Russia's legitimate security interests for years.
