An Israeli newspaper questioned on Tuesday, in an article titled "Why Can Neither Israel Nor the US Defeat the Yemenis in Yemen?"
Writer Yishai Halber, in an article published on Haaretz's website, answered: "Geography, expertise, and mentality: The Yemenis have become a force that is hard to stop, despite the repeated airstrikes carried out by both the US and Israel. Even an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza is unlikely to lead to their disarmament."
He added: "Shortly after October 7, when the Yemenis began firing missiles at Israel in support of Gaza, many mocked them. But after more than a year and a half, no one considers them just a side show anymore."
