Muscat - Saba:

Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during his meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman in Muscat, emphasized that Iran appreciates Oman's effective and constructive role in the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.

During his meeting with Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on Tuesday, the Iranian president praised the Sultanate's effective and constructive role in the indirect negotiations process, saying, "We appreciate the good efforts of the brotherly and friendly country, Oman, in mediating the negotiations, and we hope that this process will lead to good results," according to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency on Tuesday.

Pezeshkian emphasized Oman's strategic position in Iran's foreign policy, saying, "Iran has full confidence in Oman. This confidence increases the responsibility of both parties to strengthen relations and pursue understandings."

The Iranian president emphasized Iran's readiness to enhance cooperation with Oman in all fields, saying, "We are ready to do everything in our power for the glory and greatness of Muslims. Each of us has capabilities that we can utilize for the prosperity and progress of each other and of the other peoples of the region. Under such circumstances, no external power will be able to subjugate Muslim peoples," Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Pezeshkian praised the Sultanate of Oman's frank stance in support of the Palestinian people, saying, "We sincerely thank you for your good stance on the Gaza issue and your support for the oppressed."

He indicated Iran's readiness to develop cooperation with Oman in the financial, scientific, educational, technological, and, especially, medical fields, emphasizing, "In the medical field, we can establish constructive relations with Oman. Oil and gas are divine blessings, but they are not unlimited." It is essential for the two countries' traders and industrialists to plan for the future and strengthen the long-term economic foundations for future generations."

The Iranian president also emphasized the need to facilitate economic exchanges, facilitate trade, and enhance bilateral cooperation in the defense and security fields.

For his part, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman welcomed President Pezeshkian and the high-level delegation's visit to Iran, saying, "I thank you for your kind words. Thanks be to Allah, Oman is now well-positioned, independent of oil and gas, and focused on strengthening trade exchanges."

The Sultan of Oman added, "I agree with you that if the path to trade activity is opened, we will witness a significant leap in the relations between the two countries." Port relations between Iran and Oman must be developed, and the capacity of Iran's north-south railway is very important for us from a commercial perspective."

He pointed to the existing security and military relations between the two countries, stressing: "In the field of negotiations as well, Muscat is seriously following the process and sees the success of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a success for the region. More support must be provided for energy cooperation between the two countries, and we welcome any cooperation with Iran, especially in the military fields and common interests."

He praised Iran's principled positions in defending the Palestinian people, stressing: "Upholding the rights of the Palestinian people and defending oppressed citizens is something valuable and appreciated by us."

Separately, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed during his visit to the Sultanate of Oman that colonial powers seek to sow discord among Muslims through wars and bloodshed, with the aim of plundering the wealth and resources of Islamic countries.

President Pezeshkian, during his meeting with Iranian and Omani businessmen during his visit to Muscat, stressed the need to strengthen economic and political relations between Islamic countries and expand regional cooperation, according to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency. To the news.

Pezeshkian added during the meeting: "We had good talks with the Sultan of Oman and reached positive agreements. I informed the Sultan that a significant portion of our economic exchanges could be conducted through Oman. This change in the trajectory of exchanges could raise the volume of economic cooperation to more than $20 or $30 billion, provided we prepare the necessary groundwork for this."

He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with Islamic countries, saying: "We must strengthen our communication with other Islamic countries. Muslims are brothers, and we must not fall into the trap of colonial policies aimed at divisiveness."

"Colonial powers seek to ignite strife among Muslims through wars and bloodshed, so that they can ultimately plunder our countries' oil, minerals, human resources, and intellectual talents, while they only give us bombs and missiles to fight among ourselves," he added.
