English club Chelsea will meet Spanish side Real Betis tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Wrocław Stadium in Poland for the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League in football.
Chelsea advanced to the final after defeating Sweden’s Djurgårdens with an aggregate score of 5-1 over the two-legged tie. Meanwhile, Real Betis secured their spot by overcoming Italy’s Fiorentina 4-3 on aggregate.
Both teams aim to win the title for the first time in their history, capping off their remarkable journey in the competition this season.
Chelsea holds an advantage in European experience, having previously won multiple titles, most notably the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. On the other hand, Real Betis is competing in its first-ever European final.
Chelsea has delivered an outstanding performance in this edition of the Europa Conference League, winning 11 out of 12 matches and scoring 38 goals.
Nearly 20 years have passed since the last official encounter between the two teams, when Chelsea won 4-0 at home but lost 1-0 away in the 2005-2006 UEFA Champions League group stage.
This season, Chelsea finished fourth in the English Premier League with 69 points, securing a spot in next season’s Champions League. Meanwhile, Real Betis placed sixth in La Liga, earning a place in next year’s Europa League.
