Occupied Quds - Saba:
The Commission of Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs announced on Wednesday that the number of martyrs from the prisoner movement in Israeli occupation prisons has reached 307 since 1967, including 44 martyrs from the Gaza Strip for whom information is available.
In a statement, the Commission expressed its deep concern over the rising number of martyrs among prisoners and detainees, stressing that the situation is seriously deteriorating, especially with the continued detention of thousands of prisoners in harsh conditions inside occupation prisons, where they are constantly subjected to systematic crimes.
The Commission emphasized that the continuation of these policies constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights conventions, calling on international institutions and the international community to urgently intervene to save the lives of prisoners, halt the ongoing violations against them, and ensure their legal and humanitarian protection.
The number of prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons exceeds ten thousand and one hundred, including (45) female prisoners and more than (400) children. The number of administrative detainees is (3,577). The number of Gaza detainees classified by the Israeli Prison Service as "illegal combatants," who were recognized by the Israeli Prison Service, is (1,846). This figure does not include all Gaza detainees, specifically those in Israeli military camps.
