Santiago – SABA:
Chilean President Gabriel Boric has accused Israel of committing "ethnic cleansing" in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Boric stated:
"The Israeli government is carrying out ethnic cleansing in Gaza. The situation has reached a point where thousands of children may die in the coming hours because Israel refuses to allow humanitarian aid in."
He added:
"Those who commit these acts and those who turn a blind eye are war criminals. Humanity will hold them accountable one way or another. Chile is exerting all necessary pressure on all platforms to stop this brutality."
Chilean Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren also denounced Israel’s military attacks on Gaza in a separate post on X, urging:
"We condemn the severe and repeated indiscriminate attacks by Israeli forces on civilians in Gaza and the continued obstruction of humanitarian aid. The international community must act immediately to stop this barbarism."
The Israeli enemy persists in its systematic starvation policy against 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza, sealing border crossings and blocking aid since March 2, 2025, pushing the Strip into famine conditions that have already claimed countless lives.
Israel resumed its full-scale aggression and siege on Gaza at dawn on March 18, 2025, after a two-month ceasefire (effective January 19, 2025) that it repeatedly violated.
