Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stressed that the only negotiation process currently in place is the indirect talks between the Iranian Foreign Minister and the US President's Special Representative.
According to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, Baghaei said: The only negotiation process currently in place is the indirect talks between the Iranian Foreign Minister on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US President's Special Representative on behalf of the United States. He emphasized that this issue has been announced very clearly, and its results have been as transparent as possible.
Baghaei explained: Every negotiation process aims to resolve challenges and conflicts. Therefore, our continued participation in the negotiations, despite hearing contradictory opinions and statements from the US side, is proof of Iran's right, seriousness, and good faith in reaching a reasonable, just, and sustainable understanding.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman added "Basically, participating in the negotiation process simply means accepting a viewpoint to pursue and address points of disagreement. This is why we have participated in these negotiations so far, and we hope that we will ultimately reach a reasonable outcome."
Regarding the US claims to have ended enrichment in Iran, Baghaei explained that Minister Araqchi explicitly referred to the issue of enrichment, emphasizing Araqchi's statement that enrichment, which is part of the natural cycle of the nuclear industry in the Islamic Republic of Iran, is non-negotiable under any circumstances.
Baghaei added: "Enrichment is not a secondary or cosmetic matter that Iran can stop or suspend; rather, it is a fundamental technology and a necessity that ensures the continued operation of the Iranian nuclear industry without interruption. This is the result of decades of effort, hard work, and the sacrifices and lives of our nuclear scientists."
He continued: "This is Iran's right under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the result of the efforts of Iranian scientists, which cannot be ignored under any circumstances, and our position in this regard is clear."
