Bayda - Saba:
Abdullah Al-Jamali, Deputy Governor of Al-Bayda for Administrative Units Affairs, inaugurated on Saturday at Al-Thawra General Hospital the 64th free medical camp for eye treatment and surgery in Al-Bayda city.
The camp is implemented by the Health Care Society for Affected Communities with funding from the General Zakat Authority.
Deputy Governor Al-Jamali, along with the Director of the Health and Environment Office, Dr. Mujahid Al-Khatri, and the Director of Al-Thawra General Hospital, Dr. Nasser Al-Ajli, received a briefing from Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, head of the society, on the mechanism for receiving cases, conducting examinations, diagnosing patients, and identifying those requiring surgical intervention, who will then undergo pre-operative tests.
Dr. Al-Attab noted that free examinations and surgeries—including cataract operations, pterygium removal, and eyelid cyst procedures—will be performed during the camp.
During the inauguration, attended by Al-Bayda City Director Ahmed Al-Rassas, Deputy Governor Al-Jamali emphasized the importance of organizing free medical camps to assist those in need, meet healthcare demands, and promote social solidarity and charity for the most vulnerable groups.
He praised the efforts of the Health Care Society for Affected Communities, the General Zakat Authority, and the Ministry of Health and Environment in establishing such camps, which provide medical services to eye patients who cannot afford surgery due to the hardships caused by aggression and blockade.
