Sana'a – Saba:
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in coordination with the relevant security agencies, has initiated a comprehensive field campaign to confiscate banned "Starlink" devices and equipment.
This comes after the expiration of the grace period granted to citizens and legal entities to surrender these devices.
Previously, the ministry issued an official statement urging all citizens and entities to promptly hand over Starlink terminals and equipment to the nearest office of the General Corporation for Telecommunications & Postal Services before May 1, 2025. The ministry confirmed that the handover would be documented with an official receipt to avoid any legal accountability.
A responsible source at the Ministry of Communications emphasized that the ongoing campaign aims to prevent the use of banned Starlink equipment, which poses a threat to national security, public safety, and disrupts the regulatory framework of the telecommunications sector.
The source stressed that anyone found in possession of, selling, trading, using, installing, or operating these terminals will face penalties and fines as stipulated by the law.
The ministry renewed its call for all citizens to cooperate with the campaign, avoid legal consequences, and adhere to regulations ensuring the stability and security of the national communications network.
