Dhamar - Saba:
A $100,000 water project in Hillah area of Wusab al-Ali district of Dhamar province was inaugurated on Thursday. Implemented by the General Authority for Rural Water Projects with UNICEF funding, the project includes a rehabilitated well, a 75-cubic-meter tank, nearly 5 kilometers of piping, a control room, and a solar-powered pumping unit with a capacity of 305 liters per minute.
The project provides five water distribution points serving 3,000 people in several villages. At the opening, a Member of Parliament praised the Rural Water Authority and UNICEF for addressing the need for clean drinking water in rural areas.
The Director of the Rural Water Projects branch emphasized the project aligns with directives to meet community water needs and thanked local authorities for their support. He urged the community to properly maintain the project. Officials from the Health and Agriculture Departments and UNICEF also attended the inauguration.
