Amman - Saba:
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ decision to resume the so-called "property rights settlement and land registration," particularly in Area "C" of the West Bank, describing this move as a blatant violation of international law and a dangerous attempt to impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, said this decision represents a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, most notably UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirms the illegality of Israeli settlements and all resulting demographic or legal changes in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Al-Quds.
Qudah noted that these measures also contravene the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which emphasized the illegality of the occupation and settlements, stressing that the Israeli occupation holds no legal sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian lands.
He called on the international community to uphold its legal and humanitarian responsibilities toward the Palestinian people, work to halt the occupation’s ongoing aggression in Gaza Strip, put an end to the escalating tensions in the West Bank, and ensure the protection of Palestinians from the crimes of the occupation.
