The South Korean military plans to conduct its annual Taegeuk (Taegeuk) simulation drill to enhance preparedness against North Korean military threats.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced, according to Yonhap News Agency, that the three-day drills will begin Monday and will simulate crisis scenarios in multiple domains and gray zone provocations that fall short of armed military action.
"Through these drills, the military will review and develop necessary response systems, with a focus on developing a proactive posture and overwhelming capabilities against North Korea's provocations," a statement read.
