Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced that Russia is an important partner for Brazil in the field of small nuclear reactors, which will allow the Latin American country to obtain sustainable energy.
President Lula da Silva said at a press conference on Saturday following his visit to Russia: "We want to strengthen the economic dialogue with Russia. Russia is an important partner for us in the field of oil, gas, and small nuclear reactors, and this is a wonderful innovation that guarantees us permanent access to energy."
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed on Friday that relations between Russia and Brazil are developing steadily, and that Moscow is working to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Putin said during a meeting with his Brazilian counterpart: "Today I would like to note that our relations are gradually developing, and high-level contacts are constantly maintained."
Putin added during his meeting with the Brazilian president: "I remember with enthusiasm our talks in Russia and Brazil. They were always conducted in an atmosphere of friendship and understanding, in a businesslike manner, and largely thanks to personal contacts, we succeeded in making tireless efforts to strengthen relations between our two countries."
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva arrived in Moscow on May 7 to participate in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in the Great Russian Patriotic War.
