The Russian Defense Ministry announced Thursday the liberation of Troitske town in Donetsk Republic just before the start of the Victory Day truce declared by President Vladimir Putin for three days.
The Russian Defense Ministry's daily briefing on military operations in Ukraine stated:
Before the ceasefire took effect, "North" forces strengthened their positions in Kharkiv province northeast Ukraine, inflicting 215 enemy casualties while destroying 2 tanks, 5 armored vehicles, 11 military vehicles, 4 artillery pieces and an ammunition depot.
"West" forces reinforced positions in Donetsk before the ceasefire, causing 235 enemy casualties and destroying 3 US-made M113 armored vehicles, 8 military vehicles, 4 artillery systems and 2 electronic warfare stations.
"South" forces consolidated positions in Donetsk Republic, eliminating 290 enemy troops and destroying 3 armored vehicles (including 2 Canadian "Senator" vehicles), 5 military vehicles, 2 artillery pieces and 2 ammunition depots.
"Center" forces liberated Troitske town in Donetsk Republic, inflicting 510 enemy casualties while destroying 5 armored vehicles (including 1 US-made and 1 Turkish "Kirpi"), 5 military vehicles, 1 artillery piece and 1 electronic warfare station.
"East" forces continued advancing in Donetsk, eliminating 195 enemy troops and destroying 1 armored vehicle, 4 military vehicles, 5 artillery systems and 1 electronic warfare station.
"Dnepr" forces maintained progress in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson provinces, killing 80 enemy soldiers and destroying 2 armored vehicles, 4 military vehicles, 1 artillery piece, 1 ammunition depot and 1 electronic warfare station.
Before the ceasefire, Russian forces destroyed infrastructure at several military airbases and launched precision strikes on Kiev's logistics
Intercepted weapons included:
- 2 JDAM bombs
- 1 US-made HIMARS missile
- 1 Ukrainian Neptune missile
- 182 drones shot down
