China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced on Sunday that the electronic information manufacturing sector saw growth in the first quarter of this year.
The ministry stated, "The combined operating revenue of major companies in China's electronic information manufacturing sector reached 3.79 trillion yuan in the first quarter of this year, marking a 10.6% year-on-year increase, while total profits rose by 3.2% to 102.7 billion yuan."
It added, "The industrial added value of major companies in the sector—each with an annual business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (approximately $2.79 million)—grew by 11.5% year-on-year, five percentage points higher than the overall industrial sector’s growth rate. This indicates a comprehensive positive growth trend for the sector," according to China’s Xinhua News Agency.
In March, among the sector’s key products, the output of microcomputer equipment saw relatively rapid growth, rising by 7.5% year-on-year to 79.56 million units, while integrated circuit production increased by 6% to 109.5 billion units.
During the first three months of this year, the electronic information manufacturing sector’s exports continued to expand, with the total export delivery value of major companies rising by 7.1% year-on-year.
