Beirut-Saba:
The first phase of municipal and mayoral elections began this morning in Mount Lebanon Governorate, where the electoral process was under close security supervision.
Ballot boxes opened at 7:00 a.m. for voters to cast their ballots in the cities, villages, and towns of Mount Lebanon Governorate, which includes six districts.
Nominations for municipal and mayoral elections closed with 9,321 candidates, including 8,142 males and 1,179 females. Sixty-eight municipalities out of 333 were elected unopposed.
