Hamas has mourned its martyr, the Palestinian prisoner and wounded man, Muhyiddin Najm, who was martyred this Sunday afternoon inside enemy prisons. He was martyred as a result of the abusive policies practiced by the prison administration, including torture and medical neglect, under inhumane conditions.
The movement said in a press statement: "The prisoner Mujahid Muhyiddin Najm was martyred today, after spending 19 years in enemy prisons, 17 of which were consecutive, on charges of resisting the enemy and belonging to Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. He completed his jihadist journey: wounded, then prisoner, then martyr."
The movement emphasized that the Zionist enemy is persisting in its Nazi crimes against our heroic prisoners and leaders of the prisoner movement, with a sadism unparalleled in history in terms of torture and abuse.
Hamas warned that the continuation of these violations against prisoners will not go unanswered, stressing that "our people and our resistance remain committed to our free prisoners, whose will will not be broken in the face of the enemy's brutality, and whose certainty that their freedom is imminent and inevitable will not be taken away from them."
The movement called for urgent action to rescue the prisoners who are being subjected to severe and systematic repression and torture in the enemy's prisons.
It called on the masses of the Palestinian people in the West Bank to continue their movement and support for the prisoners and in defense of our people's just causes, and to rise up and mobilize in response to the crimes of the enemy and its settlers, striking them at all points of contact and throughout our occupied territories.
With the martyrdom of Najm, the number of martyrs of the prisoner movement since the beginning of the genocide on October 7, 2023 has risen to (66) martyrs whose identities are known, including at least (40) from the Gaza Strip. While the total number of martyrs of the prisoner movement since 1967 has reached about (303) martyrs, the enemy is still holding the bodies of (75) martyrs, including (64) who have ascended since the beginning of the genocide.
