The British Foreign Office expressed deep concern over the accelerating deterioration of the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Office of Foreign Affairs and International Development (OFID) confirmed that the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip is on the verge of complete collapse, given the ongoing escalation and Israeli restrictions on the entry of medical supplies and the exit of patients.
The statement stated: "The healthcare system in Gaza is on the verge of collapse. Medical supplies must be allowed in, medical staff must be protected, and patients and the injured must be allowed to temporarily leave Gaza for treatment."
The Office indicated that the United Kingdom is increasing its medical assistance to the Palestinians through international organizations and partners, such as UK-Med, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), and the World Health Organization in Egypt (WHOEgypt).
