Moscow - (Saba):
Russia and Ukraine announced on Friday that they had shot down a number of drones, continuing the exchange of airstrikes between the two sides since the start of the war in February 2022.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that its air defenses intercepted 121 Ukrainian drones overnight, explaining that 89 of them were destroyed over Crimea, 23 over the Black Sea, four over Krasnodar Territory, two over Oryol Oblast, and one each over the Sea of Azov Basin and the Bryansk and Belgorod Oblasts.
For its part, the Ukrainian Air Force stated in a statement that Russia launched approximately 150 drones overnight, noting that 64 were shot down, while 62 others failed to reach their targets, likely due to electronic jamming. The fate of the remaining 24 drones has not been revealed.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Moscow and Kyiv have frequently exchanged data on airstrikes and interceptions, amid a lack of independent verification as military operations continue.
