Rights Organization Warns of Rising Child Deaths in Gaza Due to Malnutrition

Gaza – SABA:

Save the Children, a UK-based non-governmental organization dedicated to defending children's rights globally, warned on Tuesday of the risk of more child deaths in Gaza due to malnutrition caused by the ongoing Zionist siege of the Strip.

Alexandra Saieh, Head of Humanitarian Policy at the organization, told Al Jazeera: “The situation for Gaza’s children is dire, with thousands suffering from severe acute malnutrition.”

She added, “There is a real risk of losing even more children’s lives in Gaza.”

Saieh further stated: “We are witnessing severe consequences of the Gaza blockade, and there is an urgent need for political will and international action to allow aid entry and lift the siege on the Strip.”

For over two months, the occupation forces have continued to close the Gaza border crossings and completely block the entry of humanitarian aid and relief supplies. This blockade has raised serious warnings about the depletion of food stocks and the worsening famine that has already caused the deaths of hundreds, most of them children.
