Siemens: US supports Israel's decision to prevent aid from entering Gaza Strip

The Hague - Saba:

The United States presented on Wednesday before the International Court of Justice, further evidence of its absolute support for the crimes of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and its commitment to the continuation of the blockade and crimes of genocide against 2.4 million Palestinians, through killing, starvation, deprivation, and siege.

The United States declared before the International Court that "international law does not oblige Israel, as an occupying power, to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

This comes despite the worsening catastrophe in the Gaza Strip due to the blockade imposed by the Zionist enemy on the Strip, in parallel with its resumption of war on everything in the Strip with absolute American support.

The American announcement came during an intervention by Washington's envoy, Josh Siemens, who raised "concerns" about the neutrality of UNRWA, considering that the requirements of international law do not apply in the current context of Gaza.

Siemens stressed that the United States supports Israel's decision to prevent the entry of aid, holding Hamas responsible for the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

For their part, Indonesia and Hungary condemned the Israeli blockade and called on the court to compel it to open the crossings and immediately allow the entry of humanitarian aid.

Last Monday, the International Court of Justice opened a week of hearings dedicated to reviewing Israel's humanitarian obligations towards the Palestinians, more than fifty days after imposing a comprehensive blockade on the entry of aid to the war-torn Gaza Strip.

According to the court's agenda, the hearings (oral arguments) will be held from April 28 to May 2, 2025. Forty-four countries and four international organizations have expressed their intention to participate in the arguments before the court.

The Zionist enemy resumed its aggression and tightened blockade of the Gaza Strip at dawn on March 18, 2025, after a two-month hiatus under a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on January 19. However, the enemy violated the terms of the agreement throughout the truce period.

With American and European support, the Zionist enemy has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in more than 170,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to more than 14,000 missing persons.
