Kuala Lumpur – SABA:

The Malaysian Tourism Authority has announced its goal of attracting 45 million visitors as part of its campaign for “Visit Malaysia Year 2026.”

According to Malaysia’s national news agency (Bernama), the authority’s Director General, Manoharan Periasamy, stated that this target is expected to be achievable based on last year’s visitor count, which exceeded 38 million.

He added, “The number of visitors to Malaysia rose by 31.3% up to February 2025, reaching 6.7 million, compared to 5.1 million during the same period last year. Visitors from Singapore, China, and India were among the key contributors to this increase.”

He expressed the government’s optimism about reaching the 45 million target, noting that the authority will work closely with all stakeholders in the tourism sector across the states.
